Let Us Lead was founded in 2024 at Dartmouth College to connect the increasing gap between youths' action and their political power. We began as a passionate community of student, who are motivated by civic justice, and were united by a strong belief that political empowerment should be accessible to everyone, not just an elite few.
While choosing the most effective ways to participate in democracy, we did not decide to stay in the background and start working from the sidelines but chose the more challenging route, to work with elections. That ambitious decision turned out to be a success which showed another very important thing. It showed that if youth were provided with high-quality training and resources, they could make a systemic change in society on a large scale.
Since then, Let Us Lead has grown from the regional project into the rapidly developing national movement. Let Us Lead does not follow the one size fits all principle of activism and uses a flexible structure that allows for community engagement through the eyes of their leaders. Strategies are developed not only for but by our peers, so that our influence on others remains as authentic as it is influential.
Once a small operation has rapidly grown into something much larger, something precise and focused. We have proven that we are more than just a demonstration of an idea, we are the product of a generation willing to step up to the plate and prove itself. From around the country, we are making changes that only young people can make.
The future is asking for leaders. We are here to answer.
2025 Goals & Achievements
In 2025, Let Us Lead set ambitious goals to grow our impact: expanding to three states, launching five in-person cohorts, graduating 100 fellows, building a social media following of 1,000, and establishing 501(c)(3) operations.
We’re proud to share that we exceeded every single target:
128 Fellows graduated, surpassing our goal of 100
10 states, 17 in-person campus cohorts, plus 6 pilot campuses
2,946 new followers across Let Us Lead’s Instagram accounts
This year’s accomplishments reflect the dedication of our young leaders and the strength of our growing community. We’re excited to continue building on this momentum in 2026!
Building a Stronger Country, One Community at a Time
“This is one of those moments to step up. Everyone in this room today is taking the first step. By being in an organization like this, by working for your communities like this, you are making the difference we will need to to make this country a better place.”
